ABOUT ME
Hi, my name is Kieran Young and I am 14 years old. My sport is sailing, I sail the optimist which is a junior dingy. I've been to many international events already including Palamos in Spain, Braassermermeer in the Netherlands, The French Nationals in France just to name a few. As I get older I would like to get better and better at sailing and one day go to the Optimist Worlds or Europeans.
I started sailing on a little lake called Spinnaker Sailing Club when I was 8 years old in the beginner optimist group. Spinnaker is a very small lake in Ringwood (Hampshire). Around the lake there are a lot of trees making it a very shifty venue. Since starting back in 2011 I have been getting better and better making the UK Optimist Intermediate squad (top 48 sailors in the country) in 2015-16 and Optimist National squad ( top 24 sailors in the country) in 2016-17.
